I'm sitting here trying to keep Elise awake for a little bit and hoping Matthew will decide to go back to sleep. For the last week or so he has given up taking good naps and is now napping for only 1 hour a day. This is driving me a little crazy because he usually tends to be a bit more cranky if he doesn't nap. Add to that the fact that we're not exactly doing a whole lot outside of the house and we've got a bored, tired toddler and a busy, tired Mommy... Aside from the near nonexistent naps, Matthew is adjusting to Elise very well. He loves her and gets very excited to see her every morning. He gets so excited about her that we have to remind him about every 5 seconds that he needs to be gentle with her, but at least he likes her =). Of course, being the stubborn boy he is, he refuses to even try to say Elise or "Evie" (the nickname given to her by our friend because her initials are E.V.) and he will simply call her "Baby".

He wants to be like Daddy... note the Siemens hat and work van keys

Matthew tricked "Mana" (the name he decided to call Grandma) into pushing him and his toys around the living room. He started by helping her load the toys into the basket and then promptly climbed in and flashed her the infamous dimple.

Elise, my mom, and I went to a breakfast honoring Elise's buddy Asher and we took more pictures of the kids all together.

So after my mom and I got home from the breakfast it started raining pretty hard. So hard that there was more flooding around Houston than there was when Ike hit. Being the adventurous people we are, we decided to venture out in the rain to get some dinner... this is a small taste of what we met along the way.

Matthew was pretty bored yesterday so I took him out in the front yard to play with the sprinkler for a little bit. I need to get this boy some swim trunks for water play.

Bath time for everyone this morning!

This was Elise's first real bath and she loved it. She was screaming because she was naked and as soon as she got in the water she stopped crying.

Matthew and Elise both have check ups with their pediatrician in about a month. I go for my first postpartum check up next week... I can't believe it's already been that long since Elise was born.

My little boy is sitting on his tool bench at the moment and my little girl is laying in my lap right now looking around the room. It's a very rare quiet moment in the Saldana house. I give it another 2 minutes or so.

Matthew is adjusting fairly well to having a baby sister. He's curious about her but hasn't fully grasped the concept of being gentle with her. He doesn't really seem bothered by her crying at all so I'm hoping that'll make the transition a little bit easier when she goes up to her room in a few weeks.

Elise is finally eating really well. We go back to the doctor on Wednesday for her 2 week check up and hopefully she'll be above her birth weight. She got down to 5lbs 13oz last week because I couldn't get her to stay awake long enough to get a good amount of milk in her.

Grandma has introduced Matthew to crushed ice. He loves eating it out of a bowl.

Uncle Bruce and Elijah came over last week and played with Matthew. Matthew and Elijah had a little dance party that day.

All of the OneLife newborns made their debuts on Easter Sunday. My girl is literally almost half the size of each of the boys. Both boys are back up above their birth weight now and Elise was 5lbs 15oz on Thursday. Keep in mind that both boys weighed in at about 10.5lbs at birth. Here's a picture of the big boys and my tiny girl.

I hope to have more time to update in the near future. My help leaves me next Monday so it'll just be me and the kids during the day. It'll be interesting.

Picture overload. Seriously.

The last picture of Elise inside the belly. 36 weeks, 5 days.

I was so doped up from a muscle relaxer they gave me before the epidural that this is seriously what I looked like after I had her. This is while I was waiting for her to get checked out and cleaned up. Keep in mind that I don't look like I just gave birth because I literally only pushed once and never broke a sweat thanks to the epidural and quick labor.

That's all for now. I'm trying to get as much rest and help as I can right now since I won't have any help 2 weeks from now. Elise and I have spent most of the day on the couch watching Matthew play. It's good to be home with my boys again =).
