Ok, so we're at 28 1/2 weeks now. I feel like it's going faster and faster but Gilbert keeps complaining that it's going slower for him. Gilbert can now hear the baby's heartbeat if he puts his ear up to my stomach. It's cool that he doesn't have to wait for Dr's appointments to hear it.

It's been hot the last few days. Pregnancy and heat don't mix well. It's tiring and things have been crazy at work so I've been somewhat uncomfortable. This also means that in addition to only being able to sleep on my side, I now have to deal with warmer nights. Luckily, I haven't had too much swelling and I've been able to stay indoors in the a/c.

We're in the third trimester! Only 91 days until my due date. Matthew has been moving around like crazy for the last 5 minutes or so. As I'm typing this I'm getting the occasional foot in the ribs along with other movement. I got into a minor fender bender yesterday afternoon and I think the adrenaline got him moving around a lot. He's been a little more calm today, but right now he's going nuts. I really don't know how he's going to grow for the next 3 months. It feels like he's just about out of room in there.

We had our 3D ultrasound yesterday and it was really cool to see him so clearly. He hid half his face behind the placenta for a good part of it, but we did get to see him turn his head a couple of times. He also had the other half of his face covered by his hand at first. Our little one is shy. Just like his parents =). The ultrasound tech seems to think he may have my cleft chin and it looks like his lips are shaped just like mine. Other than that, we can't really tell who he looks like. Although, it does look like he has Gilbert's ears. It turns out that the pressure I've been feeling against my ribs is our little guy's feet. He's already head down and while there is a chance that he could turn over again, it's good to know he's at least headed in the right direction for the time being. Here is my belly at 27 weeks. It looks a little bit smaller than it did last week, but I still feel like it's gotten bigger.

No update last week because there wasn't too much going on. We had a long weekend (not in a good sense) but things are back to normal now. We're at 26 weeks now and next week I will start my third trimester. I can't believe we only have 3 more months until our little guy gets here.

We've started seeing movement in the last couple of weeks. Depending on how he's positioned you can see my stomach twitch when he kicks. It's neat to watch. It turns out our boy has also met my ribs. He's not kicking them, thank goodness, but a part of him (I'm not sure what part of him it is) tends to dig into my ribs when I sit down and he digs into my side. Gilbert has gotten kicked in the face a few times, too. He started talking to Matthew the other night and he responded by kicking right where Daddy's face was. I never though Gilbert would be so happy to get kicked in the face.

Gilbert and I went to register tonight and it was an interesting experience. I forgot what it was like to let Gilbert loose in the store with the registry gun. We ended up with things like batteries, bottled water, the Nintendo Wii, a flat screen TV, and 10 packs of disposable gloves on the registry. Needless to say, I did some updating when we got home =). It's a relief to have that done, though.

Next week we have our 4D ultrasound and I also have my monthly Dr's appointment. They'll do my glucose tolerance test (for gestational diabetes) at that appointment. I'm not too concerned about it because my Dr. said a couple of months ago that my blood sugar levels look good. Well, that's it for now!
