Mommy is tired. Elise can't make up her mind on whether or not she wants to start sleeping better at night and Matthew is still testing every boundary he can. Mommy is tired =). Not a whole lot new around here in the last week or so. We don't get out much these days =).

Matthew asked to hold Elise and I helped him out. Unfortunately, Elise wasn't thrilled about being awake so she doesn't look too happy.
We finally got Elise's crib, which frees me up to do more around the house because I can put her down for naps in the playpen in our room instead of on the couch. The playpen has been in her room for the last few weeks and with as much as she naps, I wasn't about to try go up and down the stairs several times a day with Matthew in tow. We also don't have a monitor for her room yet and with her napping on the couch, I always had to be right there to make sure Matthew didn't try to pull her off the couch. However, now that the playpen is back in our room, I have the freedom to get more done. It's nice =). Here's a picture of the crib thanks to Mana for the bedding and Grammy for the crib.

Well, Matthew is still doing well and I haven't seen any evidence of a rash so we still don't know what caused the fever. He's been cranky and tired since the fever broke so it was definitely something.
This is Matthew when the Motrin kicked in. "Cheese." The spot under his eye is a mosquito bite.
This is how he spent most of Monday. Daddy decided to take advantage of the situation, too.
He was all about Daddy when he was sick. He's wearing shoes here because he asked for them even though we didn't actually leave the house until today.
I'm posting these simply because my babies are beautiful =)

Matthew passed out in my lap around 7:30 last night, which is unusually early for him. I had to take pictures of my boy sleeping peacefully.
And of course..
Ok, funny story. Matthew has never really seen any of the original Star Wars movies. He's seen the cartoons but Anakin is still Anakin in all of the cartoons. Well, when we ask Matthew to say "Vader" he always changes his voice. Neither one of us taught him this but we love it. Here's a video =)
Well, Matthew's fever finally broke. I guess we'll have to keep an eye out if it really is roseola. He's still incredibly cranky but he's started drinking fluids. We were so desperate yesterday that at one point we just gave him some ice cream. He's still not big on food but we're working on it. In the mean time, things are better... with the exception of both kids just wanting to cuddle with Mommy all day. I love to cuddle but I only have 2 arms and I'm only so big. Matthew alone takes up just about all of me when he wants to cuddle and I really don't want him too close to Elise if I can help it... I hope everyone cheers up soon.

UPDATE
Well, it turns out it's neither Matthew's ears nor his throat. Gilbert took him to the doctor and by the time they got there the motrin was wearing off and Matthew's temp was back up to 102. The doctor checked his ears, mouth, and throat and all were clear. They drew some blood to run some tests and after all was said and done, they had no answers. The doctor thinks there's a chance it could be roseola but she's not sure. If he has a fever by the end of the week I need to take him back in.
The good news is he did finally ask for food but he wouldn't drink much. He's napping now but we'll have to get him up in about an hour to give him more medicine to keep his fever down.
Please pray that he continues to take food and that he begins drinking more fluids and that this fever breaks.
We'd like to ask everyone to pray for our boy. As some of you know, fevers are somewhat of a big deal in this house since New Years. Matthew developed a fever on Sunday and we've been pumping him full of motrin since then. If that were his only symptom we'd just have to keep an eye on him and keep him hydrated. That's the problem, though. Matthew is refusing to eat and he's refusing most liquids. We were finally able to get him to eat a little bit of a tortilla last night and we were able to get him to drink a little bit of Gatorade. Gilbert is on his way to the pediatrician with Matthew right now. I suspect it's something to do with his ear and/or his throat.
Please pray that this fever breaks soon so we no longer have to worry about it spiking quickly and he won't be at risk for a seizure. Also pray that he starts eating and drinking again soon so that he can regain his strength to fight this thing off. I'll update as soon as Gilbert lets me know what the doctor says.

Well, Elise turned 1 month old yesterday and I'm trying so hard to remember where the last month went. Thankfully things are calming down a little bit here but I'm still not able to get much done while Matthew is awake. Hopefully that will change soon. Elise sleeps well at night. She wakes twice to eat and goes right back to sleep with no problems. I don't even have to rock her to sleep, which is always nice. She's filling out nicely and I say she's getting "fat", which is, of course, a relative term in her case =).
Yes, I do plan to overload you with pictures again =).
Matthew continues wanting to be like his Daddy. It's not enough that he's the spitting image of his father, he wants to work for Siemens, too (remember the picture of him in the hat with the van keys?)

Daddy sat with Matthew at the table to enjoy some treats from Matthew's Easter basket. Matthew was thrilled to be able to sit like a big boy.

His new favorite spot in the house. This is the window seat in the kitchen. He can climb on there by himself and is allowed to sit there as long as he's supervised and he stays on his bottom.
I've mentioned before that I taught Matthew "shake and bake" from the movie Talladega Nights. You can actually see it in the next video. He calls it "bake bake".

So our TV has been broken for a couple of weeks and Matthew has adjusted well to not being able to watch Wall-E. Yesterday I decided to see what he thought of Yo Gabba Gabba and I have to say, he wasn't all that impressed. Here he is expressing his opinion...
Daddy bought Matthew his own "water park". Here he is testing it out today.
In case you're wondering why I don't update more often now... it took me over an hour to write this post because children kept calling me away from the computer. In addition to that, the cable to transfer pictures from the camera is connected to the computer upstairs... and going up and down the stairs with two small children is no small task.
