My little boy is sitting on his tool bench at the moment and my little girl is laying in my lap right now looking around the room. It's a very rare quiet moment in the Saldana house. I give it another 2 minutes or so.

Matthew is adjusting fairly well to having a baby sister. He's curious about her but hasn't fully grasped the concept of being gentle with her. He doesn't really seem bothered by her crying at all so I'm hoping that'll make the transition a little bit easier when she goes up to her room in a few weeks.

Elise is finally eating really well. We go back to the doctor on Wednesday for her 2 week check up and hopefully she'll be above her birth weight. She got down to 5lbs 13oz last week because I couldn't get her to stay awake long enough to get a good amount of milk in her.

Grandma has introduced Matthew to crushed ice. He loves eating it out of a bowl.

Uncle Bruce and Elijah came over last week and played with Matthew. Matthew and Elijah had a little dance party that day.

All of the OneLife newborns made their debuts on Easter Sunday. My girl is literally almost half the size of each of the boys. Both boys are back up above their birth weight now and Elise was 5lbs 15oz on Thursday. Keep in mind that both boys weighed in at about 10.5lbs at birth. Here's a picture of the big boys and my tiny girl.

I hope to have more time to update in the near future. My help leaves me next Monday so it'll just be me and the kids during the day. It'll be interesting.

Picture overload. Seriously.

The last picture of Elise inside the belly. 36 weeks, 5 days.

I was so doped up from a muscle relaxer they gave me before the epidural that this is seriously what I looked like after I had her. This is while I was waiting for her to get checked out and cleaned up. Keep in mind that I don't look like I just gave birth because I literally only pushed once and never broke a sweat thanks to the epidural and quick labor.

That's all for now. I'm trying to get as much rest and help as I can right now since I won't have any help 2 weeks from now. Elise and I have spent most of the day on the couch watching Matthew play. It's good to be home with my boys again =).
I haven't had a chance to upload new pictures yet so you'll have to do with just a written update for now =).

Elise is doing well. After a little bit of a slow start she's starting to nurse well and she sleeps a lot (of course). She had a little bit of trouble controlling her temperature yesterday so she had to spend some time under a warming lamp in the nursery but she seems to be doing a lot better now.

Matthew came by yesterday and I don't think he know what to make of her. He's definitely curious and wants to get close to her but he doesn't know how to be gentle so we've had to watch him closely. He seems to be okay with me holding her but freaked out a little when Gilbert held her in front of him.

The plan is to go home today. The pediatrician has been by to see Elise and said that she's just waiting on her jaundice test results but she think Elise is fine. My doctor hasn't been by yet today but I'm hoping she will be soon so that I can get cleared to go home. I'm eager to be near my boy again =).

More pictures to come.

Elise Victoria is here!!!

April 1, 2009. 7:26PM. 6lbs 3 oz.

I had a doctor's appointment this afternoon and the doctor checked me out and asked if I wanted to have a baby tonight. It was either tonight or tomorrow morning. We went home, got my bag, said goodbye to Matthew, and headed to the hospital. We got to the hospital at about 5pm and I had started having contractions on the way here. At about 5:30 my doctor came in and broke my water and said now was my best chance for an epidural. I took her up on it and got the epidural. They decided to give me some pitocin to try to get me to progress a little and it never had a chance to kick in. They asked me if I felt her drop at all and because of the epidural I couldn't feel much of anything so I didn't know what to tell them. They checked me and called my doctor because the baby was about to start crowning. I pushed once and Elise was here! She cried right away and didn't stop for a while so she's already more vocal than her big brother. She's in the nursery right now getting her first bath and her blood sugar was a little low so we're waiting to hear back on that. Matthew will be here in the morning to meet his little sister =). In the mean time...
