Matthew is 6 months old! My mom came out to be with him on his 1/2 birthday and we had a busy weekend. We spent Friday shopping for Matthew, Saturday was spent passing out door hangers for our church, and Sunday was our church's official launch. It was a busy weekend and poor Matthew was worn out. I also managed to get sick somewhere along the way. Thank goodness my mom is still here and she's helping me with Matthew.

Here are some new pictures:

Matthew was introduced to Daddy's drums last week and he seemed to like them:

Matthew's Grammy (Gilbert's mom) sent this costume for Matthew. He wore it a couple of times but he wasn't too fond of it so it didn't make it to Easter:

Matthew got his first solids this weekend. He got peas. Soon he'll get some green beans. He wasn't thrilled of being strapped into his high chair at first and wasn't quite sure what to think of the peas. He started to enjoy them fairly quickly though.

Our boy weighs about 20 lbs!!! Which means we have to buy him a new car seat in the next couple of weeks. The weight limit on his infant car seat is 22lbs... He's definitely not the same skinny baby I brought home from the hospital.

He is rolling over!!! I think I may have mentioned it last week but I finally got it on video.

Still no teeth even though he's biting down on everything. He'll have his first taste of solids this week. My mom is coming out from California for Matthew's 6 month birthday and Gilbert has the day off because it's Good Friday. It'll be a fun day.

Other than that, we're pretty much settled into our house but we're still putting up finishing touches and cleaning up. We'll post pictures soon!

Well, it's been a while. We're finally in our house and I can finally post pictures again! That means that those of you who got the email with the pictures last week won't have much new to see this week. Sorry about that.

Matthew is rolling over now!!! I had him playing on the living room floor yesterday and I went into the kitchen to make myself a sandwich. I could hear him making noises and then all of a sudden he started crying. I went back into the living room to check on him and found him on his stomach. I got him to roll over in front of me about 3 times later on in the day. He even rolled over for his daddy. Matthew has decided he likes to be naked. Well, not entirely naked as he can't be trusted without a diaper. He likes to spray when he's exposed. As soon as I undress him he's an entirely different baby. He's still working on balancing to sit on his own but he's getting there. We're also working on his daytime naps. He sleeps at night with no problems but naps are a bit of a struggle. We're getting there, though.

Matthew will be 6 months old 2 weeks from tomorrow =)

Well, the Saldanas have made it to Texas. We arrived last Wednesday and it's been an interesting week and a half so far. Gilbert started work on Monday and that was interesting in and of itself. He says he's bored most of the day and there was a bit of miscommunication regarding his position. We also have not yet moved into our house and we're having all kinds of problems with that. We're hoping to be in our home sometime before next weekend, whether it's the one we've been trying to purchase or it's a lease.

We had been staying with some friends who have three kids of their own and it was complete chaos. We were initially supposed to stay with them one night but seeing as our housing situation wasn't completely figured out it turned into a week and a half. We decided that we needed to give them their home back so we left there yesterday. Lucky for us, another couple in the church is in Australia for a month visiting family and they offered up their place for us to stay in during the transition. We decided to take them up on it and while Matthew still didn't sleep through the night last night, it was the best sleep I've had in a week and a half.

Speaking of Matthew, he is huge. He probably weighs almost 18lbs now. When we packed up all of our belongings his jumperoo was on the first setting and his feet couldn't reach the ground. The family whose home we're staying in has a little boy a couple of months older than Matthew and he has the same jumperoo on the same setting. When we put Matthew in it today his feet touched the ground. He's getting big =). He is also cutting some teeth. I can see 3 teeth just under his gums and I can actually feel one poking through. Hopefully they'll come in soon so my little guy won't be in anymore pain.

Well, that's all for now. Hopefully next time I update we'll be in our home (wherever that is) and I'll be able to upload some new pictures!

No pictures today. Gilbert, Matthew, and I are staying at Gilbert's mom's house this week while we're in transition from California to Texas. All of our belongings are on their way to Texas right now. Gilbert drives out Tuesday morning with our friend, Sean. Matthew and I fly out Wednesday morning with my friend, Dani, and her son, Luke.

Matthew had his 4 month check up yesterday and he got his shots, too. He weighed in at 16lbs 9oz and he's 25in tall. He's in the 75th percentile for weight and 50th percentile for height. My boy is short and fat =). The doctor said he looks perfect. He handled his shots fairly well. He was fussy for a little bit but he was back to himself by last night.

Tomorrow we head down to San Diego for my birthday and for a "last hoorah" with some of our friends. We're looking forward to it and hopefully I'll have some good pictures to post once we get settled in our new house! We'll be Texans in less than a week!!!

Well, Matthew made it through his first cold. He did well for the most part. He had just started sleeping through the night when he got sick so he was a little thrown off. He did sleep through the night last night, though, so hopefully we're getting back on track. He has been a bit fussier than normal the last few days. Some people have told me he must be teething but I'm not convinced. I'm just trying to keep my little man as content as possible. Here are some new pictures from the last week:

Seeing as Gilbert, Matthew and I will be moving to Texas soon, my parents decided it was time to take some family pictures. We took advantage of the opportunity and asked the photographer to take some picture of Matthew by himself. We're pretty happy with the shots he took. Here are a few of them:

Well... Matthew has his first cold. Luckily he's not feeling horrible but he's definitely congested. He's no fan of the nasal aspirator or saline drops but he's been in a good mood for the most part. He has his 4 month shots in a couple of weeks. Poor kid.

This was after everyone played with the "crackers" at Uncle Marks' house:

I couldn't bring myself to put pants on him the day that he wore this onesie. It cracked me up:

I've found a way to keep him entertained for a few minutes during tummy time. Such a vain boy:
